Watch: packing a Series 3 with one snowboard and one pair of skis

What You’ll Need

  • Series 3 Sportube Hard Case
  • Rubber brake retainers and ski straps (included)
  • Wire Case Pin (included) or TSA-approved lock (not included)

Step-by-Step Packing Instructions

  1. Prepare the skis
    • Push each brake down and hold it retracted with a rubber brake retainer; the band goes over the top of the binding, not around the ski edge.
    • Lay the skis tip to tail with the bindings facing each other and the bases outward, and wrap the ski straps around tip and tail.
  2. Prepare the snowboard and boots
    • Lay the snowboard base-down on the floor and place the boots tip to tail at its ends, as shown in the video.
    • Lay the strapped skis on top of the board with the bindings facing the board.
  3. Separate the Hard Case
    • Remove the included Wire Case Pin to split the case into top and bottom halves.
  4. Load the bottom half
    • Slide the board, boots, skis and poles into the bottom half of the case and make sure everything sits straight.
  5. Close and lock
    • Slide the top half over the bottom half and cinch it down onto the gear for the most secure fit.
    • Insert the Wire Case Pin or a TSA-approved lock through one of the two holes on the outer section. The outer and inner holes are not meant to line up; use the hole that gives the tightest fit.

Packing Tips

  • Pack snugly to prevent movement during transit.
  • Always remove the Easy Pull Handle when checking, shipping, or mounting the case on a vehicle roof rack.
